HARRISONBURG – Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are moving closer to billing the insurance companies of people who use public ambulance services.
City Council is expected to take up the issue on Tuesday, while the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to discuss a proposal on July 8.
The move, officials say, is prompted by the need for more paid personnel as the number of volunteer hours shrink and budgets become tighter.
